Youtube! Angelique Kerber beats by Agnieszka Radwanska during her Ladies' Singles semi final match on Wimbledon 2012

Agnieszka Radwanska left the choking until she was off court after ending Poland’s 75-year wait for a Wimbledon singles finalist.
The former girls champion took just 69 minutes to record a  6-3, 6-4 victory over German Angelique Kerber.

But rather than be lost for words afterwards, the 23-year-old lost her voice midway through her press conference.
She had been struggling for breath and taken a few gulps of water before she apologised and continued a coughing fit out of sight.
She had been affected by the room’s air conditioning but had earlier raised the temperature on Centre Court.

Radwanska became only the second Polish woman to reach a Grand Slam final after Jadwiga Jedrzejowska competed in three championships before the Second World War.
‘I’m so happy to be part of tennis history in Poland. Jedrzejowska lost in three sets that year but I will try now and we will see,’ said the third seed.
Radwanska’s consistency took the sting out of Kerber’s booming serve and she booked her date with Serena Williams thanks to her accuracy. It was a relentless barrage that forced Kerber into several errors.

Nevertheless, the 24-year-old German stands as an example to many in the women’s game. This time last year she returned home after a first-round defeat, having dropped to 100 in the rankings. Now, after undertaking an intense fitness regime, she has rocketed into the top 10.
Friends off the court, Kerber believes Radwanska can cause an upset against  Williams. ‘My plan was to play aggressive but she moved very well and didn’t make many mistakes,’ said Kerber. ‘If she plays like that, she has a good chance.’
