Julianne Hough perfects “Spaghetti Bikini” body in the sea of Oak Island, North Carolina

People usually cram in their exercising before wriggling into their bathing suit.

But Julianne Hough scheduled in some last minute workouts having already hit the beach.

The 24-year-old was seen doing a series of squats and press-ups with her mother Mari Anne as the pair hit Oak Island in North Carolina with Julianne's pet pooches Harley and Lexi.

Having left Dancing With The Stars in 2008, Julianne will no doubt have had to rethink ways to keep in shape to maintain the body expected of her for her new Hollywood career.

Since bidding farewell to the reality talent show, the Utah native has since gone on to star in Footloose, Burlesque and Rock Of Ages.

The blonde actress is now shooting her latest venture Safe Haven, alongside Josh Duhamel.

And judging from her dedication to working out even when soaking up the sunshine with family, Julianne will be in fine form for the Lasse Hallström-directed film.

While clearly slender and remaining trim, Julianne still has curves and shuns the size zero trend.

Wearing a patterned spaghetti string bikini, Ryan Seacrest's squeeze showcased toned thighs and a pert derrière while her mother stayed covered in a black all-in-one.

And running around after her canine companions will be additional exercise, without having to bother with the gym.

Speaking of her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Julianne told People: 'Being away from family and everything, it sometimes is tough. You go through your good days and your bad days

'Having my dogs with me is literally my safe place. They're always there giving me joy and comfort and love. Lexi is like a prima donna, a princess.'
